The Bill Werbernuik of Goalkeepers.
Never went out without half a bottle of Irish Whisky inside him. reckoned it calmed his nerves.
Unfortunately he overdid it before a F.A Cup Replay match at Upton Park in 1959 against a poor 2nd div Huddersfield Town team, albeit with a young talented teenager, Denis Law, in their side.
He shipped in 5 goals in the first half and never appeared for the second half.
Strangely enough his daughter married Frank Worthington, another footballer who often put one or two back before playing .
Different era.

My all time favourite was Bobby Ferguson, the most expensive goalie in the world when we signed him for 67K back in 1967 from Kilmarnock. Our only signing from Kilmarnock I do believe.

Ludo in his prime was an absolutely brilliant keeper.
A 1-1 draw at sheff Wednesday always sticks in my mind as one of the best performances I've ever seen from a hammers keeper.
